Sand Compaction Pile (S.C.P) Method

S.C.P is a technique used to improved the strength of the marine deposits. 

The soft ground is improved by first inserting a casing pipe in the marine deposits, followed by the insertion of a cylindrical bag composed of a water-permeable material into the casing pipe; sand is filled in the cylindrical bag and then only the casing pipe is drawn out from the soft ground, leaning a dense column of sand in the soft ground,This process is repeated to achieve the required replacement ratio according to the design when a load is imposed on the sand drain-constructed region, water would escape through the sand drain and consolidate the soft ground.
